The greatest value here at THRIVE is their ability to convey the body mechanics of the exercises. I now know what I need to focus on to build more strength in order to continue my physical activities. The stability and strength I’ve gained has allowed me to progress in my dance lessons and I feel more stable during yoga my practice. Honestly, their attention to cuing and how to use the body safely when performing physical activities is priceless. Im impressed at how my ankle flexibility has increased – which plays a key role in dance and feeling more grounded in yoga. Im more mindful on how to safely use my body in simple everyday movement to reduce unnecessary body stress, i.e. rising from the ground to standing – huge game changer!

I've always been regular with my physical activity but I was never really pushing myself. I walked everyday with my yellow lab because that was the type of cardio I enjoyed because I was outdoors. I would do yoga classes that helped with little kinks in my back, but I really needed to step something up. I needed something that was missing in my workouts. But spending time here, I do feel that emotionally I can go to a better place in my mind, its a place to escape for me and to build my confidence. I used to walk into Lululemon and think I like the fashion, but I don't feel like I should wear it – I'm not really embedded into my own physical fitness. But now I feel like I belong to something and it's become so uplifting for me.

Before I started training at THRIVE I was working out haphazardly. I would workout once or twice a week, then I would stop for whatever reason. I was very inconsistent. Where I really saw the difference was how my body felt after I played the sports I enjoyed, like tennis and basketball. Before, my hips would get sore, my low back would have a dull ache and my neck would get really irritated (a past car accident). But since training the biggest change I've felt is that I'm more comfortable in my skin. I've lost 30 pounds, have much more flexibility, strength and awareness during my regular activities like carrying groceries or how to set up during gardening – and I'm able to do all this with a lot more endurance and without any physical ramifications.
