Unlocking Your Fitness Potential with Irvine’s Top Personal Trainers

There’s only one requirement I have for someone to be a trainer at Thrive Training…well actually two.

The first, they have to be a good person.

We can help and teach you to become a great trainer, but if you’re not a good person at the core of who you are, we can’t work together.

I made a promise to myself a long time ago to grow with people who are team players, motivators and want to improve the lives of our community as well as themselves.

Our members and community deserve people who actually care.

The second, they have to be able to communicate “the why” behind every exercise.

Personal training is more than just counting reps.
It’s more than just standing there and talking to you about how your day is going.

We’re here for a main reason…to get you moving correctly so you can do the activities you want to do in your life.

Those activities can be lifting and carrying your grandchildren, it could be to garden without any residual pain, or play pickleball with your husband.

Whatever that activity is, its yours and we want to be able to help you have everything within arms reach.

Our trainers are a special breed.
Each trainer goes through an intensive internship where they learn the Thrive fundamentals and philosophies of training.

We all have to speak the same language here in our studio.
We can’t have 4 different strength training strategies for our members where we contradict each other with cues or technique.

Thats why our internship is so important.

However, and this is a big thing, I do not want our trainers to forget everything they’ve learned in their past.

They’re here for a reason…because I saw huge potential in each one.
They’re training style and education has gotten them here and all we want to do is build new skills and add to their tool box of exercises and technique.

Before you start here at Thrive, our protocol is always to sit with you and talk about several things…the most important are your goals.

But specifically, your goals need to be “SMART”…Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound.

This allows us to track milestones throughout the year for you.
Without tracking we never know if we’re going the right way.

Its like calling a timeout in a basketball game…we need to make real-time adjustments so we can get to our goals safely and efficiently.

Soon after we’ll do assessment of how your body moves, give you videos for homework and plug you into a one-on-one session or class.

A big factor for people to recognize is that working out with us is usually 2 to 3x/week, average.

There are 168 hours in a full week.

There are a lot of opportunities for our members to fall back into old habits…thats why our biggest superpower is the power of accountability.

We’ll text you if we see you’re falling off the wagon…
We’’ll call you to see where you are if you signed in but cancelled last minute…
We’ll track you on your eating and sleeping habits throughout the week…

All these are signs we care about…and these are just a few metrics we use for our members.

Our biggest strategy towards the accountability to your health is our 30 day check ins.

This is where we sit and chat about your progress…this is where we communicate and be honest with each other.

Is this really working for you?

Are you on the right path or do we need to shift something?

I always tell everyone, we’re all adults here.
We need to be able to communicate with each other so we can be on the same page.

The last thing I want to do is assume what you’re feeling and thinking.

Once we’re all on the same page, I simply communicate this with my team so you know you have everyone in your corner, supporting you, your family and your goals.

This individual attention is something we pride ourselves in.
You’re not just a number here…we’re a family that actually cares about what you’re going through.

Irvine’s Holistic Approach to Fitness

We have a saying here at Thrive…“The heaviest weight we have is our front door.”  It’s true…let me explain.  Before people start working out, they worry about what exercises they’re going to do… They worry about the exercises they’re unsure of… They’re conscious and anxious about how they’re going to
